As far as my memory goes, I have loved pedas. They are so sweet and fudgy. Perfect to start or end any meal..celebrate any occasion ☺️
And since I love them so much, I make them often at home for some sweet cravings or for poojas. They always turn delicious and perfect! The instant way! I mean I do love pedas but do not wish to spend a long time reducing milk and stirring for hours! 😉
So I made them again today. I was free, had all the ingredients ready & besides, my hubby dearest is touring and is due to arrive tomorrow, so these will welcome him home ❤️ He loves these little bites of heaven! 😇 this is very easy to make.
Just 5 ingredients and you are set! Come on…check out the recipe…
Yield: 14 medium sized pedas
Equipment: a non stick pan, a whisk, measuring cups / spoons
Ingredients:
1 cup milk powder ( I used Nestle )
1/2 tin condensed milk ( approx 200 gms )
1/2 tsp cardamom pwd
2 tsp ghee + 1 tsp used to grease the palms
1 tbsp pistachios slivers for garnish
Method:
In the non stick pan, pour the condensed milk. Add the milk powder & the cardamom pwd. Use the whisk to mix everything into a smooth, lump free batter. Turn on the heat now, keep it on medium flame. Keep whisking while it cooks. Once this mixture starts leaving the sides of pan in approximately 5-6 mins, add the ghee and whisk again until it cooks off and forms a thick dough like consistency. Took me about 4-6 mins to get to this stage. But do not over cook the mixture as that results in hard pedas.
Turn off the flame. Let the mixture cool down for about 10 mins. Grease your palms with some ghee, take approximately a tbsp of the mixture, roll it in your palms giving it the desired shape. Repeat for the remaining mixture. Garnish the pedas with some pistachio slivers. Let them sit for about 15-20 mins before you serve them. 😬 done!
Make these today for your loved ones, they’ll love you even more ☺️
Love,
Shreya 💞
